The stylish design of this new boutique hotel in a nightlife district is a refined response to the industrial Old-World vibe of the historic Corktown neighborhood. Warm tones and brass accents in Venetian terrazzo elevate the aesthetic, imbuing a sense of substantial weight and permanence. The terrazzo texture heightens a handsome contrast between the light matrix and darker aggregates. Instead of the typically applied cement system, a deeper-than-standard epoxy matrix was poured to accommodate larger aggregates, ensuring correct chip nesting and density while allowing for minimal slab depression and a significant reduction in grinding waste.
