Delano High School

This remodel and addition included the installation of both epoxy thin-set and sand cushion terrazzo to match existing cement terrazzo. A stair along the transition from the level of the new entrance to the elevation of the rest of the building creates a bold statement that maintains openness between the elevations. Terrazzo allowed for a monumental effect as well as elegant details as the stairs changed in scale and angle. The gradient in colors unifies the material palettes of the existing building and the more contemporary addition.
