The design intent is beautifully achieved in the classic simplicity of this installation in the iconic Rockefeller complex in midtown Manhattan. Projecting the aesthetic of a traditional cement terrazzo floor, the design is executed in a thin-set epoxy terrazzo system, with glass, marble, mirror and porcelain aggregates. The two-color floor, with its focus on the intricate ashlar-style strip pattern and joints in one-quarter-inch brass, replaced a marble tile floor and complements perfectly the vertical surfaces and the architecture of the space. Excellent craftsmanship is evident throughout.
