Polish Heritage Center

Honoring the rich heritage of the oldest permanent Polish settlement in the US, this museum greets visitors with a vibrant nine-foot terrazzo medallion at the entry. The complex pattern incorporates 20 rich epoxy colors for high visual impact, while a simple one-color field applied throughout the rotunda, gallery spaces, and restrooms balances the costs. The project was funded by donations from the local community, and after multiple conferences with design and construction teams through an interpreter, by the Polish government. Terrazzo was specified for its design capabilities, ease of maintenance, and durability.
