This classic terrazzo design complements the architectural context of this new addition. Meticulously detailed with stainless steel inserts, a sweeping grand staircase in precast terrazzo is a dynamic flourish in the light-filled atrium. At the main entrance, brass art inlays of sea animals enhance the aesthetics while also symbolizing the geological movement of the Red Cedar River that flows behind the facility. Mirrored ceilings underneath pedestrian bridges over the atrium reflect the floor, and functionality meets aesthetics with terrazzo expansion joints that connect the new installation to that in an existing building.
