Chaffey High School Gardiner W. Spring Auditorium

This auditorium was a state-of-the-art facility when it opened in 1939. When renovations began in 2017, the intricate terrazzo patterns proposed by the architects provided the perfect opportunity to showcase the contractor’s skills, as well as terrazzo’s design capacity and durability. A wide array of aggregates and colors were sourced to provide a period-accurate design to complement the architecture. Lacking as-built drawings of the historic structure for the design work, installers relied on state-of-the-art 3-D laser scanning to capture accurate dimensions. Excellent craftsmanship is evident throughout this installation.
