Terrazzo was an easy choice for this project based on its long life cycle and ease of maintenance. Terrazzo has now replaced carpet, slate, and porcelain tile in all four of the airport’s terminals, where it is endures considerable abuse, but is easily maintained in mint condition. An eight-color palette of three-eighths-inch epoxy terrazzo mixes bright accent colors with neutrals, with airplane images and conceptual graphic skyline silhouettes on the departure level, and graphic icons in a local theme in the arrivals level.
