Fourteen colors of terrazzo in this LEED-certified terminal are formulated with natural marble and mother-of-pearl. High percentages of recycled glass reinforce the terminal’s green theme, both in color and sustainability.  Illustrated throughout the airport, 1,000 water-jet cut letters, set in the terrazzo, tell the story of the city and its landscapes. Every indigenous bird in the area is represented, as are prominent local citizens. All four outer walls of this airport are glass from floor to ceiling, so natural light shines exactly as the architect envisioned: on the gleaming terrazzo floor.
