Physical Specimens |
It is difficult to duplicate exactly a specimen
of Terrazzo in actual work. Marble, being a natural
product, varies in shade. The shade of cement may
also turn out slightly different. The size and
denseness of marble granules are not always uniform.
Note: Minor variations are therefore unavoidable and
must be expected. Also, the formulations of some
standard colors may vary due to the local availability
of certain marble colors.
Specimen Identifications:
|
S - Denotes Standard
Terrazzo using marble chip sizes #1 (1/4”)
and #2 (3/8”) in equal parts in combination
with Portland cement, Gray or White, with or without
color pigments.
TS - Denotes Thin-set Terrazzo using marble chip
sizes #1 (1/4”) and smaller in combination
with Resin or Cement Binders with or without color
pigments.
V - Denotes Venetian Terrazzo using marble chip
sizes #1 (1/4”) through #8 (1-1/8”)
in combination with Portland Cement, Gray or White,
with or without color pigments.
R - Denotes Rustic Terrazzo, a uniformly textured

of thin, random fractured slabs of marble with
joints of standard type Terrazzo between each piece
of marble. |
